How to help #Shadeoutdm support ALS.org

We CAN help!

Did you know that some of the DM Studies are contributing to ALS Research???  We are joining forces with the wonderful folks at some of the ALS Chapters & are very excited to share the Fight to "DEFEAT ALS".

We have TWO ways we can join hands & Raise Awareness!

1. Find an ALS WALK near you, Build a #ShadeOutDM TEAM, make your #ShadeOutDM signs, dress in #ShadeOutDM purple and WALK for those who can't!

2. Contact an ALS Chapter local to you & offer to do a #ShadeOutDM booth among their vendors (we just ask that you contact us at least a month in advance so that we can have time to send you the materials to represent us properly.)   http://www.alsa.org/community/

ShadeOutDM supports "WALK to Defeat ALS"

 ShadeOutDM participated virtually in the

"2021 WALK to DEFEAT ALS"

campaign again this year since DM is the Canine version of ALS and the DM dog studies contribute to the human ALS studies for more research!

ALS / DM Studies

"Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) is an inherited, adult-onset disease of the spinal cord causing progressive weakness and paralysis of the hind limbs and eventually all limbs. DM has clinical, histopathologic, and genetic parallels to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS - Lou Gehrig's disease) in humans." (Dr. Joan Coates)
